As a pilot, I make a living in the air.
Clouds, winds, cold fronts and temperature inversions; it's all part of the playing-field we traverse on flights around the globe.
Since I've found my way to the cockpit, the cloud-scapes have turned from constantly changing backgrounds into three-dimensional sceneries. Towering cumulus clouds, flat layers of icy stratus or violent thunderstorms that illuminate the night.
The undeniable beauty is breathtaking, at the same time I am acutely aware of the mighty nature of these aerial giants.
No matter how large the 747 may seem from a human perspective, it dwarfs in the presence of storms and hurricanes. This dual nature of the extremely powerful forces of nature command respect from every pilot.
